this is my contribution to the campaign. [link]
i ran across it a while ago and it struck me. hard. i know so many people who just hate their bodies and i can't even begin to explain how much i wish i could change that. i'm not saying it's easy to love your body because trust me, it's something i struggled with. it took me a while to start loving my quirks. like the fact that i'll never have a defined waistline. i could lose all the weight in the world and it would never change the fact that my ribs are there and i just won't be curving dramatically any time soon. but that's okay. i've learned to appreciate what i do have and i guess what i'm saying is, i hope you all love yourselves too. so check the campaign out, i hope it means to you as much as it means to me. EDIT: some people have pointed out that it ruins the message because the photo isn't of someone who's overweight. i'm not going to argue my weight. i will say this: my weight has nothing to do with the message i'm trying to get across. my point [and the point of the entire campaign] is that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. to those who are naturally bird-bone-skinny to those who are more voluptuous and everything in between. it doesn't matter. it's all beautiful. EDIT2: i am also aware this is not a skilled photo. i am by no stretch of the imagination a photographer -- if you look at my gallery, i am a writer. however, i love this campaign and i wanted to make my contribution and did the best with what i had. i merely wanted my watchers to be aware of the campaign. so, please, if you're going to comment on the details of the photo, understand that i am well aware it's lacking in that area. EDIT3: okay, i have never disabled comments before in my life, but some people are really just abusing them and missing the point of the campaign. i considered taking this down but i realized it's would defeat the message of the campaign, so i'll be leaving it up. i did change it to a deviantid because i agree it doesn't belong in photography. if you want to join in, note me with a link to your picture and i'll add it. i love you all, thank you so much for the support. also, if any of you feel inspired to do your own version, send me the link and i'll post it here [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] |
